Checklist for your move

Since we have noticed that the KnowS community is currently in moving fever, we have compiled a compact checklist for you. Basically, moving can be divided into 3 blocks:

✔️ Cancel apartment in good time by registered mail.

✔️ Clarify whether a new tenant needs to be found.

✔️ Clean out and dispose: In the community you will find motivated helpers who will be happy to do this for you.

✔️ Dismantle furniture, pictures, door signs: Our handy community will be happy to help you. Should you have to pay for a new coat of paint for the apartment, you will find inexpensive providers in the community who will be happy to help you in their spare time.

✔️ Organize moving boxes.

✔️ Organize final cleaning (note: do not forget to clean the garage, basement, mailbox, etc.). Also for this you can easily advertise a cleaning job at KnowS.

✔️ Notify your employer about the date of moving: In many places you have 1 day off at your disposal.

✔️ Empty the mailbox.

✔️ Have the electricity meter read.

✔️ Apartment handover, handover protocol, keys (also cellar and mailbox).

✔️ Organize snacks for helpers

✔️ Organize childcare service / pet sitting if needed: Need flexible carers? No problem for the community.

✔️ Reserve parking space

✔️ Set up a furniture placement plan

✔️ Provide toolbox and cleaning supplies

✔️ Organize new apartment handover, acceptance protocol, keys

✔️ Helpers for assembly: Of course, your belongings not only have to be transported, but also assembled. Maybe you have ordered a nice piece of furniture, which you still have to pick up. For all these services you can find support in the community.

✔️ Repair: Even if you are careful, something unexpected can always happen. Don't worry: having things repaired instead of thrown away is exactly in line with KnowS' mission.

✔️ Have curtains cut: If you also want to enjoy privacy in your new home, you can find skilled seamstresses in the community.

✔️ Personal touch: Do you enjoy a personal touch? Let the community create door signs, door mats and more with your own personal style.

✔️ Provide light bulbs and lamps for the first light in the new apartment: For this, you can easily find a craftsman from your new surroundings on knows.com. Then you already know a local address in case you need support again.

✔️ IT infrastructure: Just like light, a properly set up IT infrastructure is also advantageous. For this you will certainly find a person from the community.

✔️ Insurance: Large train actions always carry the risk of something getting broken. Therefore, don't forget to take out or adjust your household insurance as well as a liability insurance.

✔️ Record or document defects, report to household insurance if necessary.
